چکیده

Acetaminophen (APAP) overdose is a significant cause of drug-induced liver injury and acute failure. The diagnosis, screening, management APAP-induced (AILI) challenging because the complex mechanisms involved. Starting from current studies on AILI, this review focuses novel findings in field AILI. It highlights issues that need to be addressed. This supposed summarize recent research progress make recommendations for future research.

The Effect of Short‐Term Periodic Fasting on the Acetaminophen-Induced Liver Injury in Mice

Introduction: In many cultures fasting is recommended as a way to protect and promote health. However, there are few studies on the effects of fasting on organ function and resistance to toxic agents such as drugs. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of short-term periodic fasting on the acetaminophen hepatotoxic effects in mice. Methods: In this...

Complement activation in acetaminophen-induced liver injury in mice.

Overdose with acetaminophen (APAP) results in acute liver failure in humans and experimental animals. Complement comprises more than 30 proteins that can participate in tissue injury and/or repair, but the role of complement activation in APAP-induced hepatotoxicity has not been evaluated. Treatment of male, C57BL6J mice with APAP (200-400 mg/kg) resulted in liver injury as evidenced by increas...

Lipopolysaccharide-binding protein modulates acetaminophen-induced liver injury in mice.

Acetaminophen toxicity is the most common cause of acute liver failure in the United States and Europe. Although much is known about the metabolism of acetaminophen, many questions remain regarding the pathogenesis of liver injury. In this study, we examined the role of lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP), a protein important in mediating cellular response to lipopolysaccharides, by using ...
